Retro Tuner is a professional-grade musical instrument tuning application designed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. Its interface emulates the aesthetic of an analog panel meter combined with a Nixie tube note display, providing a visually distinctive experience. Beneath this retro exterior lies advanced digital signal processing algorithms that deliver rapid and precise pitch detection.

The development of Retro Tuner was motivated by practical experience with a variety of instruments, including multiple guitars and a vintage 1920s player piano that frequently goes out of tune. The application was created on the premise that if it can accurately tune such challenging instruments, it is capable of handling any tuning task.

Retro Tuner operates in equal temperament and supports the complete 88-key range of a standard piano. The default reference pitch is set to A=440 Hz but can be customized through the Settings menu either by specifying an exact frequency in Hertz or by adjusting a detune factor in cents.
